Perth and Kinross Council is considering introducing a visitor levy on overnight stays and is seeking the views of businesses, residents and visitors on how any future scheme should operate. The current proposal is for a fixed charge on room/unit accommodation of £4 per night for all types of accommodation, with no cap on the number of nights, exemptions for Perth & Kinross residents and all registered charities, and a 2.5% fee payable to accommodation providers equating to 2.5% of levy collected. The money raised would be used to maintain and/or improve local infrastructure, facilities and services that are used or impacted by visitors and to sustain the tourism sector across Perth and Kinross.

This survey provides an opportunity for you to provide your views on these proposals and possible alternatives. Importantly, your answers will help to inform the final details of the proposed Levy.

Please take a few minutes to provide your input - it should take no more than 10 minutes. At the end of the survey, you will be provided with an opportunity to indicate the extent to which you support or oppose the visitor levy scheme in Perth and Kinross.

The survey is being undertaken and will be analysed by independent research agency, 56 Degree Insight who abide by the Market Research Society Code of Conduct. We will not disclose any of your details and we anonymise all of our reports. No personal data will be passed to the Council and we will only use the information you provide for the purpose of this consultation.
